In this talk, I'll walk through the basics of an Azure application. We'll start with a quick overview of the platform, then talk about the different services offered. Finally, we'll create a little application that takes advantage of these services. I'll also provide links to detailed instructions for setting up your own Azure account and becoming familiar with details such as billing.

David Makogon is a Senior Consultant at RDA with 25 years of software creation experience. His current passion is Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing platform and is a Microsoft Azure Virtual Technical Specialist. David is the Technical Lead of RDA’s Architecture Guidance Practice Group, and a Microsoft Solutions Advocate. He is also an active member of the local development community, and presents frequently at user groups and code camps in the Mid-Atlantic, focusing primarily on Azure and Silverlight. He has been interviewed by Microsoft’s Channel 9 as well as Microsoft’s Azure team on the topics of Azure and UI architecture patterns.
